In line with our primary language curriculum, our primary school enjoyed a couple of days of our seaside experience. 
Following a splash in the pools and a play in the sand, they relaxed with meditation and yoga, summer themed art, and spent time browsing the beach shop.
These activities were focused on improving lamguage and literacy. 
Harry returned all the bottles he collected in the school.
Next job is to purchase something nice for the class to enjoy.

On Thursday the 6th of June pupils from classes 3 & 4 visited the Watergate theatre to see the play "The Tiger Who came to Tea". This experience will help to enhance the children's overall literacy skills and provided them with a theatre experience.
Through the experience of this performance pupils will further develop an appreciation for and enjoyment of literature.
There is a clear linkage within the new primary language curriculum and arts education.
Language learning also enables children to understand the world around them and communicate with others.

Our students were delighted to participate in a soccer blitz with pupils from the Mother of Fair Love and St. Patrick's today at the Watershed!
We had a visit from the National Heritage Council, we got to see old bones and ceramics from years ago.
Huge thanks to Marie Kennedy and all at Kilkenny Lions Club who will held their yearly duck race on the river Nore this Sunday at 2pm.
The money raised from this race will be donated to our school.
The race started from the Lady Desert Bridge.
Thanks to all who have bought a duck and may the best duck win.!!!
The Junior Classes have started Fit Friday this term, they really enjoyed dancing to the Cha Cha Slide.
A very successful Senior school summer trip to Dunmore East Adventure Centre.

Great excitement this morning in school with the visit of Irish Olympian Phil Healy.
Classes 9-14 enjoyed their history trip to Ferrycarraig Heritage Park.
Great to see some of our senior pupils enjoying their trip to Lourdes this Easter accompanied by one of our SNA'S.

Mrs. Butler, Mrs.Lennon and Ms.Leo were delighted to participate in a panel discussion on structured teaching and learning across SEN settings this morning. This was organised in conjunction with TEACCH training being delivered in Kilkenny Education Centre . Thanks to the team from the University of North Carolina and the NCSE for inviting us.

LCA 1 Photography Exhibition!
Lots happening in school this week, big fundraisers for students going to Lourdes.
Starting off Seachtain na Gaelige with a lovely visit from Seanchaí Jim Maher - Master storyteller. 
Class 8 had a very interesting and fun first session with Roisin and TAP.
They are learning about photography.
Class 12 and 13 enjoyed their first photography lesson with Roisin.
Class 13 have really enjoyed their drama recordings of the book- The Day the Crayons Quit for the Junior school students.
Senior School Assembly for Catholic Schools Week.
For Catholic Schools Week each class learned about a different Saint and put up a display in the hall.
Fr. Dan came to visit and see all the work we did for Catholic Schools Week. 
This week we celebrate Catholic Schools Week.
The theme this year is "Catholic Schools Communities of Service".
The daily themes are:
Monday - Service in our Community of Friends
Tuesday - Service in our School Community
Wednesday - Service in our Family Community (Grandparents' Day)
Thursday - Service in our Local Community
Friday - Service in our Faith Community
We will have a thought for the day each morning. 
The prayer for the week is The Our Father.
On Friday, we will show our work in the gym, Fr. Dan will visit and Class 14 will write to Bishop Coll to share our Catholic School Week news and work. 
Good luck to Mr Poyntz who is part of the O' Loughlins Senior Hurling team playing in the Club  All Ireland on Sunday in Croke Park.

What a night for our students! They made us so proud performing at Sing Out 2023 in St. Cancie's Cathedral with Music Generation. 
The staff have undertaken significant professional development in a range of areas with NEPS, NCSE, Helen Clarke Play Therapist and Oide. 
Music Generation have been working with a School Choir in preparation for participation in "Yulefest Kilkenny Sing Out" in St. Canice's Cathedral on Friday December 15th. 
We are looking forward to this event and practicing hard. 
Classes 1-6 visited the Newpark Hotel Jurassic Christmas Experience on Wednesday December 13th . 
We met Santa, got a present, had a hot chocolate, saw some animals an played in the playground. 
It was fantastic. 
Santa visited our school on Tuesday December 12th. There was great excitement. 
We sang Christmas songs, got treats and had our photos taken with him. 
we raised €215 for Temple Street Children's Hospital which Santa will deliver.
Ms. Croke and some senior students helping the junior student paint their ceramic Christmas decorations.
The Gala Tea Party on Tuesday December 5th was a resounding success, raising valuable funds which will facilitate ongoing therapies and activities for our students.

Classes 4-8 completed 10 weeks of gymnastics with Caoimhe today.
We look forward to welcoming Caoimhe back to school after the Feb mid term break!
Our Christmas Mass will take place on Wednesday December 20th at 11.30am in the school.
Fr. Dan will celebrate our special mass with us.
Senior School Quiz will take place in the hall on December 21st at 10am.
Some of the senior classes made Christmas Trees for St. Canice's Christmas's Tree Festival.
Class 8 were delighted to use the brown paper bags donated by Joe's take away.

Teachers are preparing for Parent Teacher Meeting's next week and are looking forward to meeting all parents and guardians.

Some of the junior students started choir practice with Music Generation, in preparation for a Christmas concert during Yulfest.
With the help of our SNA Ella, all students in the school participated in planting 350 daffodils, 100 tulips and some snowdrops in our school grounds. Every student had the opportunity to examine and sow several bulbs and many students went home with mucky shoes!
Classes 3 to 8 started Gymnastic classes with our visiting teacher – Ms. Caoimhe Shiel and these classes have been a great success.
Students from classes 8 and 9 have started Therapeutic Horse  Riding in Kilkieran Equestrian Centre in Ballyfoyle which are proving to be very popular.

All the classes have been busy doing Halloween art. 
Well done to our new Student Council on getting appointed as their class representatives.

They have already started working and they are going to have a fun and busy year.
Class 2 had fun planting a tree for National Tree day.
We had the pleasure of having Dr. Ann-Marie Eustaceryan in our school.
Dr Ann-Maire talked to the students an adults about the importance of gut health. 
She has her own children's book called Bug Of War, it teaches children about good an bad bateria in our digestive system. 
Mark from Music Generation is back again with senior students.
The senior students enjoying themselves with the students from Kierans College.
Students from Kierans college visit every Wednesday for the year as part of their Enrichment TY program. Everyone benefits from the social opportunities it provides.
